Which monitoring tool are you using?

I did setup once a nagios system for the Republic of Philippines Department of Agriculture to monitor the servers, network switches, routers and other equipments.  Nagios is the Industry Standard in IT Infrastructure Monitoring system that enables the system administrators, network administrators, database administrators and ICT management to proactively act on  issues arising from downtime and failures. Nagios system will immediately notify any problems and downtime which triggers action from the concerned technical staffs or service providers.  Having this type of solutions increase the service uptime and improve service delivery to our customers and end users.

Features of the system included but not limited to the following:

  • Monitor your entire IT infrastructure
  • Spot problems before they occur
  • Know immediately when problems arise
  • Share availability data with stakeholders
  • Detect security breaches
  • Plan and budget for IT upgrades
  • Reduce downtime and business losses

Servers and services are increasing,  to meet the expectation of our client there must be some ways to monitor  our infrastructure.
With nagios almost all the features you need is already there, you just need a little tweak on the configuration.

We are listed at nagios website along side with other United State Government Agencies

Joomla Error on loading article

Error Prompt:

JUser: :_load: Unable to load user with ID: 606

Resolution:

This error sometimes happens when the author of an article or any other content has been deleted from the Users list . When trying to load that content, joomla tried to get the username based on the ID, which in this case cannot be found in the #__users table because it has been deleted.

To solve this error, If you have an article being displayed on the homepage, try changing the author to another user.

If that doesn't work, you can try the followings steps:

Create a new user via the Joomla User Manager (admin backend).
Open your database manager such as PhpMyAdmin
Go to the #XXXXX_users table and search for the ID of the user you just created
Change the ID for this user to 606
Go to the #XXXXX_user_usergroup_map table
Search for the user_id that matches the ID of the user you created before
Change this ID and set to 606

How do we see ourself in the future?

I think i need to realised that life is too short, any moment we are already capable of dying. Therefore, I must prioritise anything that makes me happy or the attainment of happiness.

I must appreciate that every morning i am still alive.
I must appreciate that i have a family living with me.
I must appreciate that  i have a house or (roof under my head).

We should always be thankful that we eat our meal at a regular basis(thank the farmer).
We should always be thankful that we are healthy and our body is able to perform our daily task.
We should always be thankful of all the blessings in our life.

Thank and take care of our parents.

So don't waste life by living the expectation of others. Instead live a life full of happy memories, enjoy every moment with  the family. Play with the kids while they are still young share some laugh and kulitans. Sooner or later everybody grows old and they will live they own life having their own priorities. We must not be distracted with other things like technology(facebook & other social network activities), material things, false priorities and other happiness in disguise.

If you miss a friend, family or anyone, pay him/her a visit spend some quality time or drink beer. :)

Always be good to anyone because we do not know when is our time.

Oishi Okinawa Japan

Memories on my  first visit to Okinawa Japan.  I was given the opportunity to see and experience the culture of my Japanese relatives.

They tour us around the city, treat us in different type of restaurants and go to a lot of nice places and tourist spot.

Im glad that I was given the opportunity to observe  their culture, foods, discipline, efficiency and work ethics.

As we walk to the street of Okinawa City we can observe  that everything was organised.  Cleanliness also matter to  Japanese people i did  not spot a single candy  wrapper or plastic bag that is scattered around.  Traffic flow is not as wild as the street of Metro Manila, every drivers are discipline, they obey traffic rules and regulations and drink driving is a big big no in japanese culture.

The foods are great and Oishi especially the sashimi, maki, soba and good tasting saki.

Some photos during the visit....
